Siminn has taken a new interactive service into use for its television over ADSL service. Now customers viewing Siminn's television over ADSL have a chance to participate in elections and opinion polls, using their remote controls. The service was initiated last Thursday on the program "6 to 7", and, in the beginning, it will only be used with local program content on Skjar 1. From now on, program directors can therefore give viewers a chance to vote conveniently about people and issues and get the results in real time.
The solution is simple for the user and an interesting addition to Siminn's interactive television. The program directors control when an election ends and usually publish the results at the end of each program. An example of the service is rating candidates' performance after a television debate.
Siminn is a world leader in the presentation of interactive television solutions. For example, Siminn opened SkjarBio, at home video rental, in October 2005, which numerous customers have utilized. SkjarBio's popularity has increased enormously, and the selection of material is always increasing. Siminn's customers can rent numerous movies at home in their living rooms, without ever leaving the house. Siminn will continue to be in the forefront in this field of interactive services.
